Supported builders
Any of these builders can push to GitHub. The features apply to that repository, not to a builder project that never leaves the vendor’s editor.
What it is
GitHub Advanced Security is the set of security features built into GitHub: code scanning, secret scanning, and dependency review tied to the repository. GitHub’s product line describes it as fixing vulnerabilities and protecting the software supply chain, with AI-assisted features in current marketing.
If the AI builder already pushes to GitHub, this is the path that does not add another vendor login. What you get depends on whether the repo is public, on GitHub Team, or on Enterprise. Read the docs for which features are included on your plan.
Best for: Projects that already use GitHub and want scanning without a second security vendor.
Watch-outs
- Feature gates differ between public repos, Team, and Enterprise. Do not assume a private hobby repo has the full set.
- This entry links to GitHub’s docs because that is the stable description of the product.
Our take
Opinion from ShipSafeStack. Not a score, not a certification, and not a sponsorship.
Start here if the code already lives on GitHub and you have not turned secret scanning on. It will not see a Supabase project that was configured in a dashboard and never committed. Export or mirror the repo first if the builder is the only copy.
