Supported builders
You add the SDK to a codebase. Best fit is Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, v0, and Replit. Lovable and Bolt fit only if you can add server functions and an event key that is not shipped to the browser.
What it is
Inngest’s homepage describes orchestrating async code. You write functions with steps that can retry, fan out, and wait. They run your code, so a failed step can resume instead of rerunning the whole job from scratch.
That fits AI-built apps that need to send email, call a model, or process a Stripe event after the HTTP response. It is code in your repository, which suits Cursor, Claude Code, and similar tools better than a purely visual automator.
Best for: Next.js or similar apps that need retries and multi-step jobs without running Redis and a worker fleet.
Watch-outs
- It is not a visual integrator for non-developers. Someone has to own the TypeScript.

Our take
Opinion from ShipSafeStack. Not a score, not a certification, and not a sponsorship.
The right shape when background work should live next to the app code and survive a crash mid-way. Signing keys and event keys are secrets. A client that can emit arbitrary events can enqueue work you did not intend. Authorize the sender.
