Supported builders
This is the agent. It works on a repo you already have, including repos that started in another builder and were exported to git.
What it is
Claude Code’s product page says you work with Claude in your codebase from the terminal, an IDE, Slack, or the web. It maps a repo, edits files, runs tests, and can submit pull requests. Install is documented as a shell script, with extensions for VS Code, Cursor, and JetBrains.
Like Cursor, it does not host your app. It will use the cloud credentials and API keys available in the environment it runs in. That is the main operational risk: the agent is as privileged as the shell you started it in.
Best for: Developers who live in the terminal and want an agent that can run the test suite and open a pull request.
Watch-outs
- The agent inherits the shell’s credentials. A production cloud key in that environment is a large blast radius.

Our take
Opinion from ShipSafeStack. Not a score, not a certification, and not a sponsorship.
Strong when you want a terminal-shaped agent and you already know how the repo is deployed. Start it with the least privilege that can still run tests. Do not point it at production credentials so it can “just check” a database. Review the patch.
