Supported builders
This is the builder. It edits whatever stack you open. It does not host the app by itself.
What it is
Cursor’s site calls it a coding agent for ambitious software: you hand it tasks in a repository, it edits files, runs commands, and can work across the terminal, Slack, and pull requests. It is an editor and agent, not a hosted app platform.
You bring the repo, the host, and the database. That is why the rest of this directory exists. Cursor will follow a loose prompt into a committed secret or a route with no auth check. Project rules and a review of the diff are the controls you actually have.
Best for: People who want an AI agent inside a real repository and an editor, and who will review what it changes.
Watch-outs
- Agent mode can run commands. Know what your project rules allow.
- Subscription pricing: See site.
Our take
Opinion from ShipSafeStack. Not a score, not a certification, and not a sponsorship.
The tool many of the scanners in this directory assume you used. It is excellent at spreading a change across files and capable of spreading a bad pattern the same way. Read the diff. Keep .env out of context you paste into chat if the contents are production secrets.
