Supported builders
The JavaScript snippet can be added from any of these builders. Replay captures what is on screen. Mask inputs before you turn it on in production.
What it is
PostHog’s site calls it a product context layer: analytics, replays, errors, logs, and a warehouse you and your agents can query. For a new app, the pieces that matter first are product analytics and, if you want to watch a broken signup, session replay.
The pricing section said paid products are usage-based and that 97% of customers stay on free tiers. Examples shown: 1 million analytics events per month free, then $0.00005 per event; 5,000 session recordings free, then $0.005 each; 1 million feature-flag requests free, then $0.0001 each.
Best for: Seeing how people move through an AI-built product, and replaying the session when a funnel breaks.
Watch-outs
- Session replay can capture personal data. Configure masking on purpose.
- Free tiers are generous and still finite. A debug loop that fires an event per keystroke will leave the free tier.
Our take
Opinion from ShipSafeStack. Not a score, not a certification, and not a sponsorship.
A reasonable all-in-one if you want analytics and replay without assembling three vendors. Turn on masking before you invite users. Replay of a page that shows API keys or other people’s data is a new copy of the leak.
